"In Thought" 2023
"In Thought" is a series of four intimate digital compositions exploring the intersection of physical limitation and technological accessibility. Created during a period of chronic health issues, these works reconsider the generative potential of non-productivity and impediments. Using my smartphone's camera, I've layered and manipulated images of deeply personal spaces to create dreamlike vignettes. The small scale and plexiglass mounting invite viewers into a voyeuristic experience, emphasizing the intimacy of the subject matter. These pieces reflect on the otherness often experienced by disabled and queer bodies, creating a sense of peering into a private realm. This series reimagines the limitations of my circumstances, using readily available technology as a means to create and challenge traditional notions of production and labour.
